Volunteer Opportunities

There is always a wide range of opportunities to become involved in the life of PBDA as a volunteer. Whatever your interest, we’ve got a place for you!
Speakers Forum
PBDA presents a speaker series comprised of well-known speakers addressing topics that are relevant to parenting in today’s world. Under the direction of a chairperson, volunteers may help with mailings, setting up for the event or selling books authored by the speaker.
Walter H. Butler Golf Classic
The 18th Golf Classic will be held November 23rd at the Breakers Ocean Course. A Happy Hour preceding the event will be hosted November 22nd. Events are open to parents, grandparents, and alumni. Student golfers are encouraged to play in the golf classic. Committee members, underwriters, sponsors, and volunteers are needed.
Feather Ball Committee
The Feather Ball will be held at the Breakers on April 11th and will bring together school families, alumni, present and past Trustees, community and business leaders, and friends from around the country. The Feather Ball offers countless opportunities for your involvement. We need your assistance in obtaining the following: Underwriting, live and silent auction items. Committee members are needed for class projects, set-up, decorations, invitations, and much more.
Corporate Sponsorship Committee
Parent volunteers are needed to engage local and area businesses to support Palm Beach Day Academy through various corporate sponsorship opportunities including advertising and event sponsorship. Corporate sponsors are featured in the Feather Ball program, the web-site, and the parent directory.
Class Auction Projects Committee
Parent volunteers will be chosen from each class (or grade level) to coordinate a project made by the children, which will be auctioned at the Auction Pre-Party.
Special Events Committee
Members of this committee will be asked to organize refreshments/coffee for the International Day of Peace in September, Halloween Parade in October and the International Day Performance in February.
Book Fair Volunteers
Book Fairs take place on each campus. The Lower School Book Fair Chairs will need help setting up, working during the Fair, and packing up once the Fair is over. The Book Fair runs November 4-8, 2013.
Thanksgiving Project
Students help to pack boxes of complete Thanksgiving meals for the families at Glades Academy in Pahokee. This event instills in the children the value of generosity and appreciation for what they have. Volunteers will be asked to help students with packing the boxes on Tuesday, November 26, 2013.
Grandparent’s / Special Friend’s Day
This is a time for students to invite their grandparents or special friends (aunts or uncles, etc.) to attend a special presentation and visit the classroom. This takes place on November 27, 2013. Volunteers will organize coffee and refreshments for the morning and also set up a welcome table to greet Grandparents & Special Friends.
Teacher Appreciation Committee
Parent volunteers organize this weeklong event, which will take place May 5-9, 2014. The committee will meet prior to the event to discuss how to make this a special week for our teachers.
Lower Campus Family Picnic (NEW DAY AND TIME)
Parents and students are invited to the school for casual dining and socializing. Volunteers will be asked to help organize food, activities and games, set up before and clean up after the event. The event will be held Saturday, January 25, 2014.
Used Uniform Sale Committee
Volunteers are needed to organize uniform donations and prepare and run the Used Uniform Sale in late August. Volunteers must be available during the month of August.
Garden/Greening Committee
Volunteers are needed to assist with on campus gardening projects.
