New Year, New Possibilities
50 Photos from the opening weeks (Click arrows to advance)

P alm Beach Day Academy, which officially opened for its ninety-fifth year on Tuesday, September 7, feels younger and more vibrant than ever. After a summer that brought a dramatic transformation on the Lower Campus and an energetic new Head of School, the students, teachers and families are finally here and are already fully engaged. Dr. Edwin Gordon has been ubiquitous as he has made a priority of getting to know the children and adults at every level in our school, as well as the leaders and citizens of our surrounding communities. PBDA's 95th year promises to be more than a special anniversary. With so many exciting changes unfolding before our eyes, and with ninety-five years of tradition as a foundation, Palm Beach Day Academy's future has never been brighter.

Family Reunion BBQ and STEAM Festival - This Saturday

Sports Awards

The 2nd Annual Family BBQ and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) Festival will be held in the Halmos Center on the Upper Campus this Saturday, the 24th beginning at 5 p.m. The purpose of the dinner/festival is to thank all of our families for their generous support of our school and give our students an evening of STEAM inspiration.

This event (dinner and drinks) will be catered by Aioli. Many thanks to Florida Crystals for being our corporate sponsor for the evening.

The STEAM Festival will begin after dinner. Twenty-five activities will be brought to us by the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium and the Palm Beach Symphony. Activities will be located in the Wean Library, the Bulldog Cafe, the Science Lab and the Music Room.

Student Leadership members will entertain our youngest students in the Halmos. All students 5 years of age and under should have parent supervision if they are participating in the STEAM activities.

The final event will be a STEAM musical performance in the Matthews Center for Performing Arts at 7:15 pm. You won’t want to miss this amazing number performed by our students in collaboration with members of the Palm Beach Symphony!

Please RSVP NOW! We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!

P.S. Every PBDA student will receive a STEAM t-shirt to be worn to school on Thursday! We will wear the t-shirts several times this year when we have additional STEAM events.

Welcome New Families

New Parent Party '16

Palm Beach Day Academy extends a warm welcome to our new students and families. This year, we welcomed 72 new students – 50 Lower Campus, 22 Upper Campus.

On September 8, nearly 100 attendees enjoyed the annual New Parent Party at the home of Sara and Jim McCann. The beautiful evening offered Head of School Dr. Edwin Gordon, along with the Board of Trustees, administration and the PSC executive committee, an opportunity to warmly welcome new parents to the school.

PBDA prides itself on its reputation as a true family school. The close relationship that our faculty, parents and students share is the reason that PBDA is regarded as such. Each member of our school community is valued and needed. The faculty and parents share common goals and values as they work as partners in teaching and raising our students. As the new families join that partnership, they contribute to building and strengthening the family.

Welcome one and all. We are happy you are here.
